Established in 2017 the ERP showcase is Vancouver’s leading enterprise resource planning (ERP) software evaluation, comparison and selection event.  Geared toward ERP selection teams and decision makers for companies with manufacturing and/or distribution requirements, this premier event is ideal for businesses who are budgeting for or are currently evaluating an ERP software upgrade or replacement.  We are expecting 75-100 Attendees 6-8 erp vendors with other world class guest speakers.

1:00 PM Speaker Event - How to Choose an ERP System?

The process of selecting an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software is no easy task. With many factors to consider such as cost, vendors, business needs, and the vast software selection in the market, the task of choosing the right ERP software becomes all the more complex. However, we often lose sight of the goal while mired in the creation of a very long requirements list.  In this session we will propose an alternative approach to ensure the long-term needs of the business are kept at the forefront.  

  

  •     Start with Strategy
  •     Understand your core differentiators - Determine what has made your business successful to-date
  •     Identify key business requirements for each critical business process
  •     Determine key decision criteria – budget, local support, cloud, ect
  •     Consider cultural alignment
  •     References and social media

 

James Moffat

James is the President of Aspire Advisory, previously James was the President of SYSPRO Canada an ERP software company servicing the mid-market manufacturing and distribution segments.  James has a deep background in sales, account management, marketing and channel management.  Prior to joining SYSPRO, James was responsible for sales for the performance management segment within the Business Analytics division at IBM Canada.  James is a Chartered Professional Accountant and has a passion for skiing.  

 


 

7:30 pm After Dinner Speaker Event -How to Successfully Implement an ERP System

Implementing an ERP system is probably one of the hardest things you will ever do. An ERP implementation is fraught with risk of failure, which could be budget overruns, major delays, business processes that don’t work and worst of all shutting down your business for a period. 

Phil will be presenting the Top Ten list of things to consider and follow to ensure the best chance of a successful ERP implementation for Small and Mid-size businesses. At the end of the presentation, you will be given a copy of the presentation for your use.

Philip Patton CA(SA), CPIM, CDDP

Philip has been working with and implementing ERP systems since 1984. He has been directly and indirectly involved with over 1,000 implementations in South Africa, the UK and North America.  He founded Syspro (Canada) Inc. in 1986 and helped build the North American market for Syspro.  In 1998 he joined Manugistics where as a Senior Business Consultant (Supply Chain) he worked on projects with companies such as Mitsubishi, Fujitsu, Del Monte, 20th Century Fox and others. He subsequently joined Sauder Industries where he was responsible for the IT team that implemented their ERP system in more than 120 locations in North America. Today Phil is the CEO of Aquilon Software a provider of ERP to small and mid-size businesses and is also the current President of APICS Vancouver.
