Certification Maintenance

You worked hard to earn your certification, now it's time to keep it up-to-date and active. If your certification expires, you cannot claim the credential on your business cards, LinkedIn page, employee directory, etc…

Your certification expires in 5 years unless you earn 75 professional development points towards your certification or 100 points towards your Fellow. You must renew your certification every five years to maintain your certification designation.  The 5 year effective date is from when you got your certification.

Earning Points Has Never Been Easier!

If you haven't earned enough points to maintain your certification, we've listed a few suggestions below:

  • ASCM Membership - ASCM members receive 6 maintenance points per year

  • Seminars and Workshops - Gain insight into key areas of supply chain operations while earning 1 development point per hour of being taught or 2 development points per hour of teaching

  • ASCM Annual Conference - ASCM Annual Conference attendees qualify for up to 24 professional development points to maintain CPIM, CFPIM, CSCP or CLTD designations

  • Become an ASCM Mentor - Help foster professional growth and development for supply chain professionals by enrolling in the mentorship program. Mentors earn 2 development points per mentee

  • Read Relevant Books - Earn 5 points per book (200-page minimum)

After you've completed your activities, remember to document each activity, and keep them secure and where they can be easily accessed when you're ready to complete your maintenance application.
