  • Operations Manager, supervisors, leads
  • Sales representatives responsible for giving verbal presentations or training other employees
  • Human Resources presenters or trainers
APICS Instructors:  Successful completion of this course can be used to meet the TTT application requirements for the APICS Instructor Development Program (IDP).
 
Course Content
The intensive, two-day interactive APICS Train the Trainer course prepares supply chain and operations management professionals to:
  • Give persuasive, interesting presentations to motivate and educate external customers; or to motivate and train other employees.
  • Develop abilities to design clear, concise presentations or lesson plans for on-the-job training
  • State objectives clearly
  • Obtain participation from audience members
  • Communicate clearly by using active listening skills and questioning techniques to affirm that the presentation objectives have been accomplished.
Content covered includes: 
  • Communication skills for presentations and training
  • Presentation and Training basics: how and why people learn
  • Planning objectives, organizing material, making the presentation
  • Graphics and media selection
  • Room layout, logistics, common presentation problems
  • Practical exercises: Student videotaped presentations and critiques
Courses have a required online and classroom component.  Pre-work is required (will be notified by instructor).

Master Lead Instructor

Roberta McPhail, CPIM CIRM CSCP DDPP DDLP CLTD


Master Instructor |  Roberta McPhail is currently an independent consultant specializing in Project Management and Supply Chain. In her 25 year career, she has extensive cross-functional experience in all levels of Supply chain with a focus on Project Management.  Roberta brings to the table expert knowledge in the areas of:  Project Scheduling, Master scheduling, repetitive/lean scheduling, forecasting, demand mgt, international procurement, DDMRP, distribution planning, and MRP/ERP systems. Roberta has held senior-level positions responsible for the planning and execution and distribution processes for a multi-site multinational Steel Company. She has been the team lead for several large systems and business reengineering projects.  Roberta is a certified CPIM, CIRM, CSCP, and PMP.   She currently is teaching CSCP APICS certification classes for the APICS Vancouver chapter via the British Columbia Institute of Technology as well as corporate engagements. Roberta’s presentation style has been described as Dynamic, Fun and Educational.  You will find her sense of humor refreshing and excels at making technical material easy and enjoyable to learn.

Manly Sitter, CPIM, CSCP

Associate Instructor | Manly Sitter is an experienced information systems specialist with over 26 years of dedication to the airline catering industry serving in various production planning, training, and information systems roles implementing, training and using some of the leading airline catering software systems solutions.  Manly is an active member of the Vancouver APICS Chapter Board and has been enjoying instructing CPIM courses these past 4 years.
